How to use Essential Oils
What is aromatic use? If you use an essential oil “aromatically,” it means that you experience the properties or “aroma” of the oil through the air. Aromatic use typically includes breathing in or inhaling an essential oil, allowing the scent to interact with the mind and body.
My favourite way to use essential oils aromatically is with an electronic cold air diffuser. The scent fills a room and, depending on what blends you put together, influence our mood and environment.
Oily Africa tip: Choose one oil per day and discover a new diffuser blend each day with that oil – Pinterest is a great resource for all things blends.
Topical use allows us to address skin irritations and muscular aches and pains immediately at the location of the issue. Due to their inherent molecular composition, they are easily absorbed by the skin and can be safely applied topically.
They have natural restorative and calming properties and can be used effectively with massage and beauty therapies – at home or at the salon!
Oily Africa tip: Make your own custom roller bottle blends for all shapes and sizes in your family – from infant to the elderly. Children love to choose their own selection to go into a roller bottle, simply take the lids off two or three bottles and wave under their nose to get the perfect combo for them.
There are several ways to take oils internally; you can cook with the oils, take them in beverages, or put them in an empty capsule to swallow. Ingesting oils means you go beyond putting them on your skin to using them for their specific benefits to various organs or cells.
